Completed in 1874, the fabulous “Granite Lady” has stood its ground through the City’s many transformations – and disasters, including the Great Earthquake of 1906. Between 1874 and 1937, the Second San Francisco Mint (known today as the “Old Mint”) was the most active mint in the United States. In 1877, over fifty million dollars in coins were produced. By the 1930s, one-third of the nation’s gold reserves were stored at the Old Mint. The Old Mint was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961 and is nationally recognized as its importance as “the last major example of classic revival architecture in the United States.

Discover Events Group's Elizabeth Korondy holds exclusive event on Alcatraz Island

Elizabeth Korondy with Discover Events Group was recently contracted to operate a 550 person, two-day conference at the InterContinental hotel in San Francisco. The group's final evening celebration took place on Alcatraz Island.
The private event included a tour of the prison, dinner in the New Industries Building with dessert on the Play Grounds overlooking the San Francisco Bay.
"To plan an event of this magnitude required the ability to be extremely organized, capable of anticipating the client's needs and maintaining focus on the end result. We were able to capture exactly what the client had envisioned and provided a memorable experience for their guests," stated Elizabeth.
